As communicators, our first thought is our external audience, our partners, stakeholders, and constituents.  Our first audience really is our employees, as they are also our key messengers.  We need to ensure we are not just informing employees but including them in the message. Connecting the big picture, vision, and mission to their daily work, will allow them to help create the narrative where possible.  How can we do this?  Why should we do this? - Collaboration, connections, pride, and engagement.

Discover how the Washington State Department of Health has successfully turned external stories inward and worked across an agency to build complete stories and create meaningful, shareable content that is key to connecting employees to the big picture, including how to:

  • Engage employees in the agency story
  • Tell your story internally that connects employees to the big picture
  • Collaborate between different divisions or departments to build the team and grow the agency story
  • Create meaningful content
