Using the “live” video feed from Facebook, the Missouri Department of Transportation has been able to engage with their employees, who are moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and grandparents, to share safety messages with fans. From pitching the idea to management to winning an “innovation” from MoDOT, “Road Trippin’ in NE Missouri” has been an excellent tool to help humanize government employees who are working among traffic every day.

What started out as an idea in the communications department now has ownership from their maintenance and construction crews, because they see the benefits of sharing “their stories” on social media.
