Communications Director

John serves as the Communications Director of the communications staff in EPA's Office of Environmental Information (OEI) providing overall coordination and guidance to develop and implement internal communications tactics and strategies. Before joining EPA, John served in the U.S. Army in the field of telecommunications and retired as a Master Sergeant (Telecommunications Chief) after 20 years of faithful service. During his time in the Army, John was selected among the top 1% of the Armed Forces to serve at the White House Communications Agency, where he provided telecommunications to the President and Vice President of the United States for nearly 10 years. After his military career, John served another 10 years with the Army, but this time as a government employee, where he developed strategic level presentations, speeches and talking points for the Chief Information Officer of the Army. After brief stints as a communications specialist with CISCO and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, John joined EPA in January 2017.
